Yes, VIP On The Spot covers all types of vehicles registered under the Road Motor Vehicle Authority of Sri Lanka.
Can I obtain a Third Party cover under VIP On The Spot?
Yes, you can obtain either 3rd party or 2nd party.
What is the meaning of 2nd party?
Your vehicle is covered against fire and theft.
What is the coverage period for VIP On The Spot?
VIP On The Spot provides a one year coverage for your vehicle. You need to renew your Motor Insurance annually.

Can I extend VIP On The Spot to cover windscreen, strike/riot and others?
Yes, you can include the following additional cover under VIP On The Spot

What are the unique benefits offered to the vehicle?
If your brand new or unregistered vehicle gets condemned within two years of purchase, Ceylinco VIP will replace the vehicle, no matter how much it costs!
(Applicable for cars, vans, jeeps & double cabs.)
A similar replacement vehicle (up to 14 days) in case of an accident, where repairs exceeds 4 days.
(Applicable for cars, vans, jeeps & double cabs.)
A 10 year warranty for your vehicle against manufacturers' defects, valid for the first 10 years from the year of manufacture.
(Applicable for cars, vans, jeeps & double cabs.)
Roadside assistance to change tyres, jump-start stalled vehicles, etc. 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
Insured value of the vehicle increased by 10% every year, with no increase in premium.

Free personal accident cover of up to Rs.200,000/- for each passenger.

Up to a Million Rupees towards covering medical costs for many serious illnesses, including heart disease, cancer, strokes, kidney aliments etc.
All motorcycle, three wheeler and 3rd party policyholders will receive up to Rs.100,000.
Plastic surgery cover of up to Rs.100,000/- for ladies.

Rs. 4 Million Accidental Health Insurance Cover Free
Rs. 1.3 Million for hospitalization due to road traffic accidents locally, and for further treatment internationally - Excluding motorcycles
Whilst travelling overseas :
Rs. 1.3 Million for hospitalization due to medical emergency.
Rs. 2.6 Million for hospitalization due to accidents.
Rs. 1.3 Million personal accident cover in case of permanent disability or death.
Rs. 300,000/- for motorcyclists in the event of a road traffic accident for hospitalization locally.
How do I qualify for the No Claim Bonus?
You are entitled for the No Claim Bonus so long as your certificate remains claims-free during the coverage period?
Anything else apart from the above?
A FREE 15-day extended cover, if you are unable to renew your insurance in time.

Is Services Tax applicable for this plan?
Yes, this plan is subject to 2.04% Admin Fee and 8% VAT.

How do I renew my motor Insurance cover?
You can renew your VIP On The Spot online via this website. If you have applied for this plan before, we will send the Notice of Expiry to you 30 days before your coverage expires and you can renew by clicking on the link provided in the NOE. Or renewal can be done via VIP branches, VIP On The Spot has over 350 branches island wide.
Can I increase/decrease the sum covered for my vehicle anytime during the cover period? If yes, what is the procedure?
The adequacy of sum covered is based on the market value at the time of renewal of your VIP cover. For any request of a revision in sum covered, you are required to submit the request letter to any of our VIP Branches.
Can I include any additional coverage after the commencement of the certificate? If yes, what is the procedure?
Inclusion of any additional coverage after the commencement of the certificate is allowed, Subject to approval.
I have sold my car to another person. Can I transfer the motor Insurance cover to the new owner?
Yes, we can transfer your policy to the new owner as a new policy with additional premium. The new policy period is one year.
I would like to transfer from my VIP policy to another motor policy/certificate, what is the procedure?
For such request, you are required to submit the Request letter and card to any of our VIP branch, subject to approval.
Can I transfer to my No Claim Bonus to another motor vehicle?
Yes, you can. Subject to approval.
Will I get a refund if I surrender my certificate?
Yes, you are entitled to a prorate refund provided there is no claim has been made under your certificate, including no claims made on additional coverage.
How do I submit my request for a cancellation or termination?
For any cancellation or termination request, you are required to submit the request letter / card to the VIP any branches.
What do I need to do if there are changes to my contact details?
You can update your contact details via our call center.

In the case of a total loss or theft, what is the total value of the compensation that I am eligible for if I selected the sum covered based on a market value during renewal?
The total compensation value depends on either the market value or sum covered (whichever is the lowest).
What are the claim options available in case of an accident?
There are three (3) options for you to claim:
You can claim on your own vehicle or 3rd party vehicle.
You make a claim against your own insurer; we will communicate with the third party insurance company and settle the claim via 3rd party insurer.
Can I choose my own repairer when I make a claim?
Yes, you can choose any workshop as you like.
